As head of leasing. Melanie instigates and maintains our relationship with retailers. And after 15 years in the industry she knows just about everyone.
She is brilliant at selling something you cant see and has proved time and time again that she can convince retailers to buy into a vision where others couldn’t. Whatever the target audience, she has a genuine idea of what people want and instinctively knows when the concept is wrong, tired or worn out. She knows how best to change the merchandise mix so that it remains new and relevant and she is a strong advocate of flexible turnover leases where the interests of the landlord and tenant are genuinely aligned.
Before joining Milligan, Melanie was an associate director at Jones Lang LaSalle where she was head of the designer outlet leasing team and she was responsible for
the BAA McArthurGlen UK portfolio. She has worked on retail and shopping centre projects for Hillier Parker in London and Hong Kong and as a retail associate of Olympia and York she was confronted with the challenge of selling the Canary Wharf vision to retailers when the Tower was only nine stories high.
