Roxy opens at the Triangle Centre
Roxy has opened its first standalone store, in the Triangle Centre in
Manchester. Roxy’s existing store on Carnaby Street in London is
shared with Quicksilver Boardridres Club, but has a separate entrance
and store fit. The Manchester store is run by franchise partner Grant
Simpson, who also runs the London shop.

Covering all angles
It’s nine years since an IRA bomb ripped the heart of Manchester
city centre. Following a £28m refurbishment, the old Corn Exchange,
a building dating back to 1903 that was seriously damaged by the terrorist
attack, opened as Triangle in August 2000.

Triangle will be playing host for street entertainment
This Bank Holiday weekend from noon until 5pm Triangle will be playing
host to a varied programme of street entertainment, aerial performers,
music and art. Aerial artists will be performing throughout the weekend,
filling the sky in the central atrium with dazzling performances, while
street level entertainers will keep the Bank Holiday crowds amused with
colour and excitement to celebrate the completion of the Triangle reinvigorating
programme and mark the launch of the dramatic new Sky Bar. Also Sunday
and Monday, Free.

Triangle reaches new heights
Work on the last phase of the £4m reinvigorating programme for
Triangle has now begun onsite with the construction of the eagerly awaited
Sky Bar. This impressive free-standing structure will form the centre
piece of the atrium space in Triangle. The Sky Bar will be constructed
off site, transported to Triangle and put in place like a giant jigsaw
puzzle. The contemporary design links the Sky Bar with the new Exchange
Square entrance and the sculptures both in Exchange Square and Fennel,
and were especially commissioned from local artist Mel Chantrey.

Pie in the sky

Triangle is soon to have a new cafSky Bar will stand 14m high in the
centre of the venue, accessible via bridges and “resembling an opening
tulip”. Lined up to occupy it is Caffero, the Italian style coffee
house with several city centre branches.
