The retail boomThere is now a new drive for enhancing the overall retail offering across
the city, with multi-million pound projects beginning to come to fruition
as Milligan and Grosvenor develop their landmark schemes in the Met Quarter
and Paradise Street.
Construction activities are now underway on both sites which will provide
a previously unrivalled quality of retail activity within the heart of
the city. Many anchor tenants already exist within the city but are looking
to move to new prestigious locations and, in addition, new retail outlets
will begin trading once the new and exciting developments are complete.
Many of EC Harris’s clients are seeing the benefit of engaging
with local retail outlets to secure their commitment to new commercial
and retail premises not affected by the Paradise Street development. Liverpool’s
vibrant environment is benefiting from these new developments, which will
attract new visitors and promote wider leisure activities across the region;
breathing yet more life into the city.
Simon Tonge, regional property sector leader from EC Harris said: ‘The
city and the retailers will only benefit from these programmes of work
that are now visible to the public at large.’ Simon added: ‘The
wider regeneration and initiatives linked with Capital of Culture will
make this historic city a destination for future generations to enjoy.’
