A six feet tall cake was the centre piece of the party launch which will continue over the weekend. The Metquarter’s first party started against a backdrop of growing sales. In its latest trading update, the shopping centre revealed a successful trading period for its first Christmas season.
Sales were up 87% in December, 2006 on November.
Since opening on March 9th last year the Metquarter has welcomed new Fashion and lifestyle store to the new retail space created in what used to be the city’s old post office.
The Metquarter is organising a packed programme of entertainment for shoppers as well as exclusive special offers every day until Sunday.
Entertainment is embracing a mixture of classical urban art forms, celebrating the diversity of a mix of stores that range from Hobbs to Miss Sixty.
Dj’s, Jazz bands and string quarters will entertain shoppers this lunch time with as well as throughout Saturday and Sunday.
